Overseas adoptees file complaints “Suspension of request for disclosure of adoption information is a human rights violation

International adoptees have filed complaints with the National Human Rights Commission regarding the suspension of requests for disclosure of adoption information by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Child Rights Guarantee Agency.

EARS, an international adoptee organization, held a press conference in front of the Human Rights Commission in Jung-gu, Seoul this morning “11th) and announced that ”the organizations unilaterally ignore the adoptee’s right to find his or her identity“and ”opened an investigation by the Human Rights Commission and a request for recommendations for correction.
